Words of the Week

The list goes on: shootings, stabbings, and stonings are all rampant, and they’re almost always perpetrated or encouraged by Palestinian officialdom.

Western leaders and even a portion of diaspora Jewry justifies its refusal to notice or name the current wave of murderous Palestinian terror attacks on the grounds that the deceased are mostly “settlers”—a special category of civilians whose murder is always, if not justified, then easy enough for those who attended the right universities and who read the right newspapers to understand.

Thanks for the link. I don’t know what it’s like in the US, but in the UK the media is consistently anti-Israel to a ridiculous degree. My friends in Israel are bombed, bullied, terrorised and no one here seems to care – Israel is always the Bad Guy. But with the Oslo accord not being followed, and with terrible incidents like these murders, it’s clear where at least some of the blame lies.

Hi, Cathy, and thanks for your comment. I’d say it’s not as bad here as it is in the UK, but it could be better (especially when it comes to The New York Times, The Nation, and National Public Radio–for starters). (How’s that for a diplomatic response?)

On a MUCH happier note: I was just over on your amazing blog and I saw the news about your marriage: many congratulations!

Thank you! Two writers, living in bliss – even if we will never be rich! Best wishes and thank you for your wonderful site. xxx
