Speaking of Veterans’ Day, Alison Buckholtz, author of Standing By: The Making of an American Military Family in a Time of War, will be the speaker at a drop-in lunch and lecture tomorrow (Wednesday, 11/11), at the Jewish Community Center of Greater Washington. “On this Veterans’ Day, take a unique look into the role of a military wife as she speaks candidly about her family’s struggles, triumphs and the culture shock as Jews in the military during her husband’s wartime deployment on an aircraft carrier.” $8 lecture only, $18 lunch and lecture.
