Sunday Sentence

In which I participate in David Abrams’s “Sunday Sentence” project, sharing the best sentence I’ve read during the past week, “out of context and without commentary.”

Pulsing within him was a cacaphony of tongues: the German of his parents, the Yiddish of his grandparents, the Ukrainian of the family’s domestic help, the Ruthenian and Romanian of the locals he’d known as a child, the Russian of the Red Army, the Hebrew of his new nation.

    Hi,
Thanks for giving me credit, however, you used my photo of Aharon Appelfeld without permission and without payment.
I am a professional, I work very hard to get great complimenting portraits of my subjects. You may buy the rights to use my pictures but cannot just take my stuff for free, sorry but this is theft!!!
Please delete the photo or contact me so you may pay me the $ 100.00 fee.
    Dan.

    One more thing.
I will be in N.Y.C. on July 13th for one day and also July 31st to August 5th. If you need a good portrait I will be happy to photograph you for pay, but please do not just use my stuff without permission.
    Thanks, Dan.

Many apologies, Dan. I did not realize that the photo was unavailable for this purpose without additional payment. I have removed the photo. And thank you for the additional information, but a meeting in July/August will not be necessary.
