Monday Markets for Writers: No Fees. Paying Gigs.

  • From The Atlantic: a call for pitches for culture stories. Pays: “We pay for all stories! The amount mostly depends on the type/length of story.” (hat tip: @JBoltonFasman)
  • Confrontation reopened to submissions on August 16. Pays: for stories, “$175-$250; more for commissioned work”; for poetry, “$75-$100; more for commissioned work”; for nonfiction, “$100-$150; more for commissioned work.”
  • Attention, undergraduate writers: The Blue Route seeks your prose and poetry. Pays: “We pay twenty-five dollars upon publication.” Deadline: October 1.
  • California State Polytechnic University is advertising for an Assistant Professor of English-Poetry Writing.
  • Oklahoma State University is seeking an Assistant Professor of Creative Writing (Poetry) and an Assistant Professor of Creative Writing (Creative Nonfiction).
  • Job in New Jersey: “The Program in Creative Writing at the Lewis Center for the Arts at Princeton University is seeking distinguished writers for a potential part-time opening in fiction. This position is a one or two semester appointment. The position begins September 2016 and/or February 2017.”
