Friday Finds for Writers

Treasure Chest
Writing-related resources, news, and reflections to enjoy over the weekend.

  • “Five Pieces of Good Advice for MFA Students,” via Publishers Weekly.
  • “Why I Quit Being A Writer,” an essay by Jaime Clarke on Literary Hub.
  • Looking for some early info on forthcoming books that you might try to review in print or online? Check out the latest “Buzz Books” compilation. (There’s a YA edition, too.)
  • GrubStreet, Boston’s amazing writing center, will turn 20 next year!
  • Monday evening I was in a weekly class with Anna Solomon; Wednesday evening I attended an event for Pamela Erens’s new novel; and yesterday I discovered Anna’s Boston Globe review of Pamela’s novel. It’s a small world, after all! (And both the review and the novel are superb.)
  • Have a great weekend!
