• If you follow writing sites and publications, you’ve probably run across one or two (or more) “questions that writers hate to be asked.” In a refreshing twist, Annie Neugebauer shares “9 Questions Writers Love to Be Asked” on LitReactor.
• “There is something to be said for walking in the footsteps of your character.” So writes Crystal King, advocating travel to the places where your book takes place. (I am 1000 percent confident that having had opportunities to visit places where my own stories were set improved those stories immeasurably.)
• A primer if you’re new to the practice of litmag submissions: Lincoln Michel’s “Lit Mag Submissions 101: How, When, and Where to Send Your Work.”
• I know that plenty of people despise fiction “about” writers. But if you can tolerate such fiction—perhaps you even enjoy it?—you might appreciate Joseph O’Neill’s recent New Yorker story.
