ICYMI: My Latest Poem

Like legions of fans, I’m grieving the death of Homeland‘s Peter Quinn.

But unlike many of the others (at least to my knowledge), I still have this poem——which I completed before I became aware of Quinn’s demise in Sunday’s season finale—to help comfort me.

Residency Application: Slow but Steady Progress

This week I managed to complete one of my least-favorite parts of any application process: securing referees’ participation. I am not sure why I so dislike asking people to serve as referees. But it’s just not one of my favorite activities.

In any case, I’m now one significant step closer to finishing my application. If I am very diligent and very lucky, I may manage to finish the application this weekend. At the very least, I’ll have a full draft done. Please wish me luck!

First NYT Review for a Fig Tree Books Title

As a member of the Fig Tree Books team, I’m thrilled to see an FTB book reviewed by The New York Times for the first time. Published just ahead of Passover, David Gregory’s review of Abigail Pogrebin’s My Jewish Year: 18 Holidays, One Wondering Jew, can be viewed online.

And then, this happened on television.
