Electric Literature is open to submissions of personal and critical essays, “as well as humor that reflects on the world of reading, writing, literature, and storytelling in all its forms. We’re particularly interested in pieces that examine the intersection of the literary world and other creative disciplines: film, fine art, music, video games, architecture — you name it.” Pays: $50. “The Arts Writers grant supports writers whose work addresses contemporary visual art. The program issues awards directly to individual authors for articles, blogs, books, new and alternative media, and short-form writing projects. We support a broad spectrum of writing on contemporary visual art, from general-audience criticism to academic scholarship.” No application fee. Deadline: May 17, 2017.
