Midweek Notes from a Practicing Writer

Publication Alert!

I have a poem in the new issue of Moment magazine.

It’s not (yet) online. But I was delighted to discover that in print, it shares a page with a profile of Simon Schama (written by Liam Hoare).

A Lovely Surprise

My friend Lisa Romeo has mentioned in the past that in her teaching, she shares one of my essays. But it was still a surprise—of the best sort—to read her detailed explanation of its use in a post she recently wrote up for the Brevity blog, where a “Teaching Brevity” series is part of the celebration of the journal’s 20th anniversary. (Happy birthday, Brevity! And thank you so much, Lisa!)

(Book-)Party Time!

Last night I had the pleasure of attending a book party for The Writing Revolution, co-authored by Judith C. Hochman and my friend Natalie Wexler.

This is a book—and an educational approach—that can really make a difference. I encourage you to learn more over on The Writing Revolution‘s website.
