Every Friday My Machberet presents an array of Jewish-interest links, primarily of the literary variety.
Author David Grossman has been awarded Israel’s highest civilian honor, the Israel Prize. Which inspired Ruby Namdar to write this “Ode to David Grossman” for Tablet (which I’m sharing although I don’t necessarily agree with all of the views Ruby expresses there about some of Grossman’s books!).
Some other notable award-related news: Ilana Kurshan is the latest winner of the Sophie Brody Medal for outstanding achievement in Jewish literature.
But, wait! There’s more! At a ceremony later this spring, the Edward Lewis Wallant Award will recognize winning author Margot Singer and runner-up Rachel Hall.
Meantime, the latest Jewish Book Carnival has gone live. Check out the collection of Jewish-lit-related news, reviews, and interviews hosted this month by Batya Medad.
And in case you missed it: check out my Purim-themed poem on Jewess magazine.
Shabbat shalom.
