Call for Submissions: NPR’s “Hanukkah Lights”

Simchat Torah is just ending, but at National Public Radio (NPR), they’re at work assembling the next “Hanukkah Lights” broadcast. (It’s a program that I’ve always been fond of, particularly since I contributed a story.)

Through the grapevine, I was encouraged to check in with NPR’s Madeline Clement, who gave me permission to share with my networks this info about what they’re looking for:

  • “Either fiction or essay is fine. Must be about Hanukkah in some way.”
  • Length: “Less than 15 minutes read time is ideal).”
  • Pay Range: “$300/story.”
  • Stories are welcome from anywhere, but they must be in English.
  • Reprints welcome if prior publication wasn’t exclusive/author owns rights.
  • Deadline: ASAP (stories are being considered on a rolling basis) until 10/14.

      What is email to Ms. Clement from NPR? My computer did not pick up an address from the link. I do not have MSN or outlook email. I have a very nice story about Hanukah in 1942.
