Midweek Notes from a Practicing Writer
It seems tiresome—for me, writing these posts, and surely for you, reading them—to proclaim yet again that it’s a busy time. But that’s the first thing that comes to mind.
I’ve just returned from a study-and-writing retreat, and in a few days I’m setting out again for a(nother) conference. I’m working on a couple of projects that are under wraps, so I won’t describe them here and now.
But I can report, happily, a poetry acceptance! This is for a Biblically-inspired poem that will be published next month, and I’ll be delighted to share it with you as soon as I can.
[While I was drafting this post—literally while I was typing—a rejection came in for another batch of poems I’d sent to a journal. Such is our literary life, right?]
And, like many of you, I’m busy with all kinds of seasonal activities. Lots of good things. But there just don’t seem to be enough hours in each day.
I’ll hope to have a more interesting update to share next week!
Congratulations on the acceptance, Erika! And boo to those rejections! 🙂
Thanks!
