Midweek Notes from a Practicing Writer

Three quick updates from my desk.

1. An acceptance! For an essay! I’m too worried about jinxing this piece to say anything else right now. But once it’s out there, trust me—you’ll know.

2. I’ll be spending some time this holiday weekend completing and proofing the December newsletter. It’s never too late to join the (free!) subscriber list.

3. Hanukkah is coming—soon! (First candle: December 10.) Check out this amazing visual of some gift ideas, recently assembled by the ever-generous Julie Zuckerman (whom I like to call “the collage goddess”).

I opted to contribute the Quiet Americans cover this time; you can, of course, still purchase Birthright, too!

Wishing a happy, healthy Thanksgiving holiday to all who will be observing it—and if it’s not a day you’re looking forward to, may it at least be an easy one.
