Jewish Literary Links
- Ahead of this afternoon’s event focusing on “Jewish Text in Print,” I’ve updated my resource list on where to read (and publish) poetry, fiction and literary essays on Jewish themes.
- Do you know the name “Jessie Sampter”? I didn’t—until I read this fascinating Q&A between Andrew Silow-Carroll and Sarah Imhoff, author of a new biography titled The Lives of Jessie Sampter: Queer, Disabled, Zionist.
- On the Lilith blog: Yona Zeldis McDonough and Danica Davidson discuss the latter’s latest book: I Will Protect You: A True Story of Twins Who Survived Auschwitz, which Davidson wrote with one of those twins, the late Eva Mozes Kor.
- If you’re in Israel, you may want to check out “Life Writing: 2022 International Creative Writing Conference” at Bar-Ilan University. Begins Sunday and concludes Tuesday.. Free to attend.
- And as we approach the end of #JewishAmericanHeritageMonth, I’ll offer one more reminder to check my ever-evolving thread of (mostly) literary tweets, which span kidlit, lit for grown-ups, and even some extra-literary items. Please consider amplifying especially those items originally posted by “mainstream” publishers/libraries/organizations so they know that their recognition is appreciated).
Shabbat shalom.
