Thanks for the links. I appreciated the Jason Begay piece. On Thanksgiving day, I think, Heather Cox Richardson posted one of her deep historical pieces about how Thanksgiving Day came to be proclaimed – by Abraham Lincoln, three times – during the Civil War. Her piece held similar trauma to Begay’s of what was never taught when I was in school, the truth about the genocide of indigenous people and about slavery and America’s history beyond the myths. I read it out loud to my husband as he cooked, and I could barely stop crying, so grateful am I to finally learn these truths. Thanks, again, for what you do, Erika.
