Toward the end of each week, the My Machberet blog presents a collection of links, drawn primarily from the world of Jewish books and writing.
- Lots of award announcements this week: the Association of Jewish Libraries (AJL) Fiction Award, the National Jewish Book Awards, and the Mock Sydney Taylor Book Awards (the actual Sydney Taylor Book Awards will be announced Monday, January 27). Mazal tov to all!
- New online magazine alert: La Djente, “the national magazine of the Sephardic Community in America.” (Thanks to Sarah Aroeste for the heads-up.)
- In Cleveland Jewish News: a lovely feature on local librarians who “display love for books, history and keeping Jewish traditions alive.” (Thanks to Rachel Kamin for the lead.)
- Recently arrived: my print copy of the Winter 2025 Jewish Review of Books, which I plan to dive into this weekend.
- And this week marked the 14th “book birthday” of Quiet Americans. Which makes me especially grateful to the reader who messaged me, this week, to share that the recipient of a Hanukkah gift copy “loved it.”
