• There’s new life for Parchment, “the only literary journal devoted to contemporary Canadian Jewish writing,” which is open for submissions for its spring 2026 issue until October 1. (No fees to submit; no payment indicated.)
• Last weekend in The Wall Street Journal: an interview with Cynthia Ozick.
• In which Penny Schwartz presents a “new crop of High Holidays children’s books” that “take place in Uganda, Hong Kong and a Sephardic home.”
• Another week, another anti-Israel cultural boycott.
• And last evening, I had the pleasure of attending an event in connection with the launch of Sarah Hurwitz’s As a Jew: Reclaim­ing Our Sto­ry From Those Who Blame, Shame, and Try to Erase Us. Hurwitz has been making the Jewish-podcast rounds this week; the first such appearance I caught was this convo.
