Call for submissions: arc 23
The Israel Association of Writers in English (IAWE) is planning arc 23. The theme of this issue is: “beyond boundaries.” We are looking for work that implicitly or explicitly explores the experience of transcending of a boundary, for example, personally, politically, poetically, or linguistically. Boundaries can be literal or symbolic. Creative interpretations of this topic are welcome.
The editor of this issue is Dara Barnat.
* This issue will be published online, as well as in a limited printed edition.
Submissions, in English, are invited from all residents of Israel.
How do I submit material?
E‑mail up to four poems and/or up to two prose submissions, in English, as attachments in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx), to arc23submissions(at)gmail(dot)com on or before June 30, 2013.
Submissions should be previously unpublished and the submitter should be the copyright holder. Submitters must understand they are granting us nonexclusive rights to publish and republish the material in any form. Include your name, e‑mail address, postal address, and phone number, either in the attachment or in the e‑mail itself.
We are under no obligation to accept any particular submission. Not only quality but also the various demands and constraints of the particular issue enter into the editor’s decision. The editor’s decision is final.
Who did you say can submit material?
Any citizen or resident of Israel can submit original material. The material should be in English. Translations of Israel authors from Hebrew, Russian, Arabic, etc. are welcome.
I submitted to arc-22. Does my submission roll over to arc-23?
Do you pay the contributors?
Unfortunately, we do not have funding to pay contributors.
When will I hear from you?
You should receive an automatic message from Gmail that your submission has gone through. The judging process will take place after June 2013. If you have specific questions, contact Dara Barnat: darabarnat(at)yahoo(dot)com.
