In which I participate in David Abrams’s “Sunday Sentence” project, sharing the best sentence I’ve read during the past week, “out of context and without commentary.”

Truly descriptive!
I know I’m not really supposed to offer “commentary,” but here I go. I find figurative language so challenging–it really doesn’t come to me naturally as a writer (kind of like sensory detail). So I thought this metaphor was remarkable–something to learn from.
