Writing-related resources, news, and reflections to peruse over the weekend.
Didn’t make it to the latest Writer’s Digest Annual Conference? Neither did I. But we can catch up (sort of) via these “100 Writing & Publishing Tips” from that event.
The “dacha” in upstate New York where Gary Shteyngart wrote his latest novel. (“‘Lake Success’ was written up here in about six months. It the city, it would take a year and a half, two years to get a draft out.”)
Especially since I’ve written a few winter-related poems (and one meteorologically-oriented autumnal equinox one), this “Heat Wave” prompt from The Writer caught my attention. (Maybe it helped that this week it has been pretty hot here in New York, too.)
And if it’s Friday, you’ll find a fresh batch of #JewLit links over on the My Machberet blog. Among this week’s offerings: NEA translation fellowship news, a close look at three of Romain Gary’s books, and some news from Jewish Storyteller Press (and me).
