Sunday Sentence

Every weekend I participate in David Abrams’s “#SundaySentence” project, sharing the best sentence I’ve read during the past week, “out of context and without commentary.”

What you’re doing is actually saving lives.

  1. His ability to share so much personal experience has been so meaningful and heartwrenching (in the good way that hearts get wrenched).

I was looking forward to meeting you in person at the AJL conference this summer (I was on the planning committee), but we’ll settle for Jewish Kidlit Mavens for the time being. Glad you’re joining the Jewish kidlit community!

Hope you stay safe and well,

Carol, what a lovely comment. Yes, I’m so disappointed about the conference. And despite my best intentions thus far, I’ve made sadly little progress delving into the kidlit. But I will get there!

  2. Our journeys vary so much, and I find there’s not much I could have changed…but FYI, the seed story for REENI’S TURN, which debuts in September (MG novel in verse), appeared in CRICKET in 2001, written in late 1999. Luckily this gives me lots of guest blog post and podcast material to discuss!
