Midweek Notes from a Practicing Writer

Three quick updates from my desk.

1. An especially disappointing rejection arrived this week.

It happens, right?

2. Normally, it would be my turn to be “up” at my next critique group meeting (happening this weekend). I’m totally unprepared, but thankfully, another group member is especially eager to present her work. She’s taking my place, so I don’t have to feel quite so bad about my lack of readiness.

3. On the plus side: The April issue of The Practicing Writer 2.0 went out to subscribers this morning. If you’re a subscriber, be sure to check your email for it (even my copy sometimes gets diverted to the “promotions” section). It’s also archived

an open spiral notebook with a pen resting on a blank page, plus a text label that reads, "Midweek Notes."

Rejection of your work does happen.

    To us all.

    And will again.

But never, NEVER, rejection of the wonderfulness that shall always be you. :]

I agree with John. You have a large and appreciative readership, Erika

Seconding what John & Sandy said.

Or is it “thirding” since there’s already the two of them? 😉

  4. Erika Dreifus says:

You are all so kind! Thank you!
