Midweek Notes from a Practicing Writer
Three quick updates from my desk.
1. A beautiful surprise in this week’s mail: a contributor copy of this journal.

The poem of mine in this issue, “Out to Lunch,” was accepted a long time (years) ago, when I sent it in response to a call for submissions for a food-themed issue. I had, frankly, given up on seeing it published before it appeared in my own collection (which it does). So it’s very nice to have received this journal issue at last, and I’m looking forward to spending some quality time with it.
2. The more things change, the more they really do stay the same. A couple more rejections for a story this week, followed by another submission of that same story. What can I say? I have faith in it!
3. And if we’re in the latter half of the month, I’m definitely starting work on the next (March) newsletter. Stay tuned! 🙂

Keeping faith in stories we think are worthy is one of the hardest and one of the most important things we can do as creatives!
It definitely helps to be a very stubborn Taurus! 🙂
