Midweek Notes from a Practicing Writer

Three quick updates from my desk.

1. We could all use some good news these days, and I’m happy to report that I have some to share: a story acceptance! (The 25th time was the charm. I’m not kidding—this story was rejected 24 times before the acceptance came.) Responses were still outstanding with another five journals, so I immediately notified those publications that the piece was no longer available (as we are all supposed to do!). I am looking forward to sharing the story with you when it is published in early April.

2. One of the freelance pitches that I alluded to last week has also been accepted, so I’ll be getting to work on that assignment soon.

3. And the March newsletter went out to subscribers earlier this week. If you haven’t caught it yet, you can find it here.
