Midweek Notes from a Practicing Writer

Three quick updates from my desk.

1. Thanks to Kathy Fish for getting me to sit and write last weekend during an iteration of her “3 in 90” workshop. (I haven’t done anything yet with what I wrote, but hope springs eternal.)

2. I’ve signed up for another event that I expect that I will also find inspiring: “Sharing Israel’s Stories,” hosted by SCBWI’s Israel chapter. “For writers, illustrators, teachers, librarians, and all grownup kidlit fans. How can we share stories with kids about this ancient-new land packed with archaeological sites, high-tech startups, and natural wonders? Come spend three hours immersed in Israel! Hear writer and publisher perspectives, share YOUR favorite Israel books and inspirations, and more.” CANNOT WAIT.

3. Sometimes, writing/publishing events that I take part in aren’t advertised or open to the public. I had a planning conversation for one such event late last week that left me super-pumped. And another took place on Sunday. So, it’s been a good, uplifting time.
