Finds for Writers

Each Friday, the Practicing Writing blog shares writing and publishing resources, news, and reflections to peruse over the weekend.
- I’m trying to imagine what it might be like to transcribe all of my own journals —something that Nina Badzin has done, and recommends, over on the Brevity blog.
- The Association of American Literary Agents (AALA) has revised its Canon of Ethics. Worth a look—perhaps particularly when it comes to the “Ethical Approach to Paid Editorial Services” chart that you’ll find when you scroll down.
- News from the UK: “Fraudster impersonates HarperCollins editorial director and offers book contracts.”
- I hesitate to use the word “timely” as I refer you to Nicole Chung’s “Writing While Asian and the Burden of Education” (you’ll find out why when you read it). But there’s lots to mull over in Chung’s essay, and I admit that some of my mulling has to do with similar concerns in the context of “Writing While Jewish.”
- And there’s a special set of Jewish-lit links posted over on the My Machberet blog. (Not, incidentally, without connection to the Chung item above!)
Wishing everyone a good weekend.
