Toward the end of each week, the My Machberet blog presents a collection of links, drawn primarily from the world of Jewish books and writing.

• In case you missed them, Jessica Steinberg’s recent articles for The Times of Israel include one about the co-authors of One Day in October: Forty Heroes, Forty Stories (which, despite more than one suggestion over a period of months, I still can’t find in the catalog of the New York Public Library—my local library), and an update about former hostage Eli Sharabi’s new memoir.
• Per JTA: “Board of Shtetl, news site covering haredi Orthodoxy, resigns after founder renounces mission.”
• Happening Monday: “Can the Media Keep Kosher? with Bret Stephens and Amit Segal” (free, online event).
• On the Moment website (reported by Jacob Wirtschafter): “Docaviv 2025: Tel Aviv Film Festival Navigates Bans and Boycotts.”
• And in more fully uplifting documentary-related news, as announced via The Wrap: “Jewish Story Partners (JSP), which works to ‘stimulate and support the highest caliber of independent films that expand the Jewish story,’ has selected 26 documentaries to receive $545,000 in a major new round of grants.” (I’m especially pleased to find among those projects The Lonely Child, whose journey I’ve been following for some years.)

And, again, updates have continued for both “After October 7: Readings, Recordings, and More” and “Writers, Beware.”
