Each week (typically Fridays), the Practicing Writing blog offers writing and publishing resources, news, and reflections to peruse over the weekend.

  • Like many of you, perhaps, I’m wading through a lot of the discussion (and arguments) concerning AI. And my own perspectives seem to be in a state of persistent evolution. This week, I’m mulling over Dave Malone’s “Writers and Artists Need a Way to Label AI Use: Here’s What That Could Look Like” (via Jane Friedman’s site).

  • A timely style-tip reminder from AP Stylebook: “Martin Luther King Jr. Day is the federal holiday honoring the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., who was born Jan. 15, 1929. The holiday is on the third Monday in January. AP style abbreviates Jr. and Sr. and does not precede them by a comma. Martin Luther King Jr. does not take a comma before Jr.”
