Finds for Writers

Each week (typically Fridays), the Practicing Writing blog offers writing and publishing resources, news, and reflections to peruse over the weekend.
- From Sian Meades-Williams: “The Complicated Business of Writing Prizes.” (There is so much that I agree with here—only some of which I’ve indicated in the comments!)
- Over on Writer Unboxed, Ann Marie Nieves dives into “Podcasts and How Authors Can Use Them.”
- And over on the Brevity blog, Kathryn Smith reflects on “What We Owe the People We Write About.”
- As per usual, you’ll find a fresh set of Jewish literary links over on My Machberet.
- And since this weekend brings us to February’s midpoint, we’ll conclude with a reminder that this is a good moment to review the February newsletter. Why? Because many of the dozens of fee-free and paying/funded opportunities listed therein remain open for submissions and applications. (Recall that the newsletter will remain available to everyone until the March issue replaces it, at which time the February edition will move behind the paywall.)
Have a good weekend!
