Friday Finds for Writers

Treasure Chest
Writing-related resources, news, and reflections to enjoy over the weekend.

  • Comments on cover design, courtesy of Foreword Reviews (& Joel Friedlander).
  • On a not-unrelated note: this piece about the “Awful Library Books” project has been making the rounds this week.
  • I’m bookmarking “Creating Easy Branded Images for Your Blog and Social Media,” by Kirsten Oliphant on Jane Friedman’s site (less for my personal purposes than for day-job use).
  • Sure, you may still be finishing that #AWP17 panel proposal, but it’s never too early to begin planning an off-site event. Leslie Pietrzyk offers some advice ahead of next year’s Washington conference.
  • And in case you didn’t yet know: April 30 (tomorrow!) is #BookstoreDay!
  • Have a great weekend, everyone.

Whew, thanks! Cover design (or lack thereof) is one of my pet peeves. Love the “Awful Books” post too.

Yes, I can’t help thinking that the cover design (or lack thereof) contributed to some of those books landing among the “awful”!
