Midweek Notes from a Practicing Writer

Three quick things.

1. Houston, we have a cover! (I hope that you all like it!)

cover of BIRTHRIGHT: POEMS

2. I’m feeling slightly calmer than I was this time last week. I’ve managed to get some good work done, and I’m feeling slightly more in control. (Long may these feelings last!)

3. I’ve been doing a decent amount of reading lately (some of it to help inform the syllabus for my upcoming fall-semester course in 21st-century Jewish literature). Check out my Goodreads profile or this 2019 list-in-progress here on the site for details.

Like the cover. Any degree of “calmer” is good ( If only someone would bottle “Instant Calmer”).

Was reading Malamud’s “The Magic Barrel” with a small group of very elderly but very sharp Japanese ladies this morning – a most interesting experience.

  2. very cool cover.
    a thousand thousands – Elan
