Midweek Notes from a Practicing Writer
Three quick things.
1. I’m a cover girl!

Yes, if you missed the mention elsewhere, here it is again! Twenty days to go until pub date and my hometown Jewish newspaper has run a beautiful piece about Birthright and me.
2. After receiving a couple of polite “no, thank you”s from conference/event proposals, I’m delighted to report an acceptance that arrived a few days ago! I’ll be taking part in a session on narrative poetry (and, yes, reading from Birthright) at the March 2020 convention of the Northeast Modern Language Association (NeMLA). Bonus: This convention is taking place in Boston, so as soon as our session has its assigned day/time, I’ll begin trying to arrange other local events.
3. Related to #2 just above: I spent a bit of time this week applying for conference-travel funding from the college where I’m teaching this semester. Such grant opportunities are a definite plus for those who teach; thankfully, the application was quick and easy.
Congrats on the conference acceptance! Sigh, my proposal was rejected.
It happens!
Wonderful news!
Boston is like a wind tunnel in March. Pack extra clothes. 😉
Congrats!
(I so love the cover of your book. Haunting.)
Thank you!
Congratulations on both fronts!
Thanks so much!
Lovely cover picture. Very nice. I look forward to ordering “Birthright.”
Many thanks, Michele!
Congratulations, Erika! You make an excellent cover girl!
Thank you!
