Midweek Notes from a Practicing Writer

Three quick things.

1. A nice update: Last Wednesday I mentioned that I’d just sent in my latest contribution to The Blue Card (based on Q4 sales of Quiet Americans: Stories). Shortly thereafter, I received my first (annual) sales/royalties statement for Birthright: Poems, and so I’m delighted to report that I’ve now been able to offer my first book-driven donation to Sefaria, too.

2. Speaking of Birthright: There’s a brand-new and incredibly smart and sensitive review of Birthright up on Joe Kraus’s The Next to Last Page.

3. Magnificence: I’ve sung the praises of Melissa Duclos’s Magnify newsletter before (it’s an especially wonderful resource for small-press authors). But I’m especially fond of the latest issue, which, thanks to Sara Lippmann, spotlights me!
