Words of the Week: David Grossman (via Daniel Gordis)
First, read Daniel Gordis’s introduction.
Then, watch this clip from David Grossman’s exchange with students who had read his novel To the End of the Land.
P.S. If you’re not already subscribed to Gordis’s Israel from the Inside newsletter, I recommend it strongly. (I started with the free version; I’ve since become a paying subscriber.)
Thank you so much, it was so meaningful to see and hear Grossman, always the most thoughtful and fine Israeli. “To the End of the Land” is unforgettable journey imagined by the mother of a son who has gone off in the military and is in danger….I think it was written before Grossman’s son was killed. Another absolutely great Israeli novel with similar title, “Journey to the end of the Millennium” by A B Yehoshua.
Yes, the novel is powerful, as is this clip!
Interestingly, when I tried to share it I kept getting a “Blocked page” message. I finally copied the link and shared it on Twitter from my own Twitter page.
What exactly were you trying to share? (Which link produced that response?)
