Midweek Notes from a Practicing Writer

Three quick updates from my desk.

1. Shocked (pleasantly!) to find specific praise for my poem “The Price of Lilith’s Freedom” in Nettie Farris’s North American Review piece about the 101 Jewish Poems for the Third Millennium anthology in which the poem appears. (The same poem also appears in my own collection.)

2. In a beautiful coincidence yesterday, two other practicing writers alerted me that they’d each been selected for an opportunity that they learned about from me (here’s one of the programs and here’s the other; both writers let me know via Facebook tag, so I can’t share so easily). But I send special congratulations to them. I’m delighted to have played a tiny part in these developments.

3. And, also as of yesterday, some good news for me and all other New Yorkers from the New York Public Library:

The New York Public Library has announced “Service Restoration” at all available branch locations.
an open spiral notebook with a pen resting on a blank page, plus a text label that reads, "Midweek Notes."
