Midweek Notes from a Practicing Writer
Three quick things.
1. Birthright updates! I’ve received a beautiful cover design from my publisher—it requires a couple of tweaks, but I hope to be able to share it with you soon.
Meantime, the final manuscript (which I managed to hand in a bit before deadline) has been returned to me in layout form. I’m spending the rest of this week reviewing that (along, of course, with just a few other projects!). (more…)

Three quick things.
1. The finish line (or perhaps I should say, a finish line) is in view! I’m wrapping up everything that’s due (soon!) to my publisher to move the Birthright collection into production.
One thing that I think is settled: the author photo for the back cover! (Gratitude to photographer Jody Christopherson and makeup artist Jody Formica. FYI: I connected with this dynamic duo through my friend Julia Knobloch, who worked with them a few months earlier; Do Not Return, Julia’s debut poetry collection, will be out from Broadstone Books on July 1, and I can’t wait for my pre-ordered copy to arrive. 1. This week brought the latest printed version of my poetry manuscript, Birthright. (Thanks, Staples!) I’m continuing to revise (and proof my revisions) ahead of an ever-nearing deadline.
