Friday Finds for Writers

Writing-related resources, news, and reflections to enjoy over the weekend.

  • Via Lifehacker: insight into how National Book Foundation Executive Director Lisa Lucas does her work.
  • “How Authors Can Rock 2018 Using Social Media For Book Marketing”: great post by Crystal King on the GrubWrites blog (even if I am compelled to ‘fess up and say that I haven’t yet mastered everything on this list myself).
  • “A major black novelist made a remarkable début. How did he disappear?” Fascinating article by Kathryn Schulz about William Kelley.
  • Yes, I’m helping author Lisa Romeo (who’s also a friend) as she launches her debut memoir. And yes, I’m also happily acquainted with Sophfronia Scott (whom you may recall from this interview in The Practicing Writer). And yes, I’m also a fan of Adam Braver’s work, especially November 22, 1963. But ALL OF THAT notwithstanding, I’d still recommend that you read this post, in which all of them, instructors in the Bay Path University MFA in Creative Nonfiction program, discuss their new books. (Bonus: input from a fourth author-instructor, T. Susan Chang, whose work is new to me).
  • And remember: If it’s Friday, you’ll find a fresh set of #JewLit links over on My Machberet.
  • Have a wonderful weekend, everyone.
