Pre-Shabbat Jewish Literary Links

Every Friday My Machberet presents an array of Jewish-interest links, primarily of the literary variety.

  • On my #tbr list: Israel70, “a special bumper issue” of Fathom “that maps the state of Israel at 70 years old and examines some of the major challenges facing this still young country. Articles, interviews, films, and book reviews from 37 writers will be rolled out at the Fathom website over the Spring of 2018.”
  • On a related note: I’m grateful for a shoutout to a reading list of my own in Beth Kissileff’s new piece for The Wisdom Daily ahead of the Yom HaAtzamaut observance.
  • And looking back: Check out a thread inspired by the new “GI Jews” documentary, which aired on PBS Wednesday evening—just as we were beginning Yom HaShoah commemorations.
  • The Jewish Exponent in Philadelphia is looking for a staff writer.
  • And earlier this week, I posted a summary of last weekend’s “Writing (and Publishing) While Jewish: The Situation in 2018.”
  • Shabbat shalom.
