Writing-related resources, news, and reflections to peruse over the weekend.
A bizarre story. “Literary ambition. Fabulous parties. A hidden past. Who is Anna March?” Well, among other identities and roles, she started a literary project you may have heard about: “Roar, an online magazine of ‘literature and revolution by feminist people.’ Using empowering rhetoric and online social media solicitations, March quickly attracted writers and editors looking for a way to speak out against then-President-elect Trump.” I’ve looked through my archives and haven’t found promotion of Roar on this blog or in newsletters, but that doesn’t guarantee that it isn’t there; if I did somehow lead you to Roar, please be sure to read this article for important information! (And article co-author Melissa Chadburn posted this important note on Twitter regarding a follow-up story.)
