Midweek Notes from a Practicing Writer

Three quick things (no joking!).

1. The latest issue of The Practicing Writer newsletter (subtitled #NationalPoetryMonth—and #Covid19—edition) went out to subscribers yesterday. As usual, it’s packed with useful info, including an ample serving of current/upcoming calls and competitions (none them charging fees; all of them paying writers for winning/published work).

2. The book review that I told you about a couple of weeks ago is now online! Find it over on Hadassah magazine’s website.

3. Kick off your National Poetry Month celebrations this weekend with poetry-focused Online Author Readings organized by Hidden Timber Books. Susana Case is up on Saturday, and yours truly will be featured on Sunday. (Readings are free, but you should register.) I’ll hope to “see” you there!
